Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Mayo Clinic is making changes to its visitors policy due to the coronavirus situation.

Mayo announced Saturday it will limit the number of visitors on its campuses until further notice

Mayo said it is taking these necessary steps to protect patients and staff.

'Limiting the number of visitors is temporary and is being done to safeguard the health of all who come to Mayo Clinic. Up to two visitors at the same time per patient will be allowed, and visitors will be asked to limit the number of visits. Visitors will be screened for respiratory illness.'

Visitors can come and go, but please no accumulation of more than two visitors per patient in the hospital at a time.

Here is how the new policy will affect Mayo's regional health system:

Northwest Wisconsin: Only one visitor at a time will be allowed. Visitors are being asked to limit the number of visits.
Southwest Wisconsin: Not limiting visitors at this time, but this may change.
Southeast Minnesota: Not limiting visitors at this time, but this may change.
