St Paul  (KROC AM News) -  Minnesota will exit the July 4th weekend with more than 650,000 completed COVID-19 tests.

Nearly 15,000 tests were reported Thursday and they turned up more than 400 positive cases.  

As of Friday, the state’s cumulative total of positive cases had reached 37,624. Adults in their 20s and 30s accounted for 15,500 of the overall total. 

Olmsted County reported 25 new cases, raising its overall total to 1101. 

The state Health Dept .new daily report also shows 8 new deaths, increasing the total to 1466. This has continued a recent trend with daily totals in the single digits. Since June 21, there have been just two days with totals of more than ten.

Seven of the new deaths were residents of long-term care facilities and/or assisted living centers. That cumulative total has reached 1150.
