Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Mayo Clinic has made a move to protect patients and employees in its emergency room from possible COVID-19 exposure.

Mayo said Sunday “effective immediately, anyone who comes to the emergency department with respiratory symptoms will be taken to a separate room. They will also be asked to wear a mask. These patients will be kept separate from other people in the emergency department.”

Mayo has been advising residents who suspect they may be infected by the virus to contact staff by phone before going to the ER.
