St Paul (KROC AM News) -  A prediction by Minnesota Gov. Walz will likely come true.

Earlier this month he predicted the state would record 1,000 COVID-19 deaths by the end of May and that could happen Thursday.

The state Health Dept. Thursday is reporting 35 more deaths were confirmed Wednesday. That’s a new daily record and increased the overall total to 967.

The number of positive tests increased by 500 Wednesday and the overall total has risen to 23,000 out of more than 225,000 tests.
