COVID-19: Minnesota Death Surge Ends

St Paul (KROC AM News) - Nearly 9,000 COVID-19 tests were reported to the Minnesota Department of Health Friday, raising the total since the pandemic began to 189,500.
About 10-percent (847) of the latest tests were positive, increasing that cumulative total to 19,845.
After a three day surge of nearly 100 fatal COVID-19 deaths, there were 10 reported on Friday. So far, the state has recorded 852 deaths with 697 involving residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
The MDH report shows Friday’s hospitalization of COVID patients was 568, an increase of 34 from the day before. The number of patients in intensive care fell by 18 from the day before to 215.
