St Paul (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota Department of Health Thursday announced eleven more deaths involving the COVID-19 virus - the highest one day total since the state began tracking the outbreak.

The death toll has risen to 50.

There was another large number in the report - 88 more confirmed cases, increasing the state’s total to 1242.

The total number of hospitalizations has risen to 294 and roughly half are still hospitalized and 64 of those are in intensive care.

The new report also shows Winona County has recorded one more death. Its total of 5 ties Ramsey for the 2nd highest county total in the state. Hennepin has the most at 25.
