COVID 19 – RPU Suspends Service Disconnections
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Public Utilities has announced it will not disconnect any residential or commercial customers from electric or water services until further notice.
The decision was made as part of RPU's response to the coronavirus pandemic. Any customer having difficulty paying their utility bill is urged to contact RPU customer service at 507-280-1500 to arrange a payment plan.
The municipal utility says it is maintaining adequate staffing levels at its generation facilities and will continue to have electric and water crews available 24 hours a day to respond to outages and other service problems. RPU staff members have been directed to operate within social distancing directives at RPU facilities and while working in the field.
