St Paul (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota Department of Health Wednesday announced 85 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. That raises the pandemic total to 1154.

The department report lists listed 5 more COVID-19 deaths, raising the total to 39.

Winona County has recorded one more death, increasing its total to four. That ties with Martin County for the highest county death total outside the Twin Cities metro area. Winona County has recorded nineteen COVID-19 cases so far.

Olmsted County has recorded two deaths so far. Olmsted County has recorded 5 more confirmed COVID-19 cases, increasing its total to 108.

The Health Department says over half of the state’s confirmed cases have recovered. Nearly 300 had to be treated in a hospital and 135 remain hospitalized, with 64 of those patients in intensive care.

As of Wednesday, nearly 31,000 tests had been conducted in Minnesota.
