Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorist was injured in a crash near the Rochester Taco John’s restaurant Wednesday morning.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded to the crash shortly after 5 a.m. 

One vehicle was involved in the crash and the driver was the only occupant.

Driver Transported to Hospital After Crash Near Rochester Taco John's

The crash occurred at the intersection of 7th St. and 11th Ave. NW. Grayson says the preliminary investigation indicates the motorist struck a curb and collided with a cement barrier. 

The driver was not significantly injured but was transported from the scene by Mayo Clinic Ambulance as a precaution, according to Grayson. The cause of the crash is unknown. 

The driver is described as a 40-year-old Rochester man. His name has not been released.
