Multi Vehicle Injury Crash Snarls Traffic on Hwy. 52 in Rochester (Update)
Update: 12/20 12:25 p.m. Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Patrol has released the names of the two people involved in an injury crash on Hwy. 52 in Rochester Tuesday morning.
The state crash report says a Toyota Sienna, driven by 54-year-old Tabitha Hanson of Rochester, and a Honda Civic, operated by 31-year-old Joseph Mayo of Rochester, collided as the two vehicles were heading north on Hwy. 52 near the Hwy. 14 West/Civic Center Dr. interchange. The crash was reported shortly before 9 a.m.
Mayo was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. Hanson was also brought to St. Mary's but did not suffer any injuries, the report says.
Troopers say the road was covered with snow and ice at the time of the two-vehicle crash. Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Rochester Police Department and the Rochester Fire Department were also at the crash scene.
Northbound traffic along Hwy. 52 was reduced to one lane during the crash response. The accident was one of several crashes reported on slick roads across southeast Minnesota Tuesday morning.

A Rochester Police Department spokeswoman said officers responded to the report of an injury crash on Hwy. 52 north at the Civic Center Dr./Hwy. 14 West interchange shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday. The preliminary investigation indicates two or three vehicles were involved.
There's still no word on the severity of injuries suffered as a result of the crash. Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Rochester Fire Department were also at the crash site.
The crash blocked multiple lanes on Hwy. 52 north. The lane closures were in place for about 25 minutes.
