Crash With Train in Dodge County Leads to Drug Charge
Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - Bail has been set at $30,000 for a man who ran away after the car he was driving was involved in a slow speed collision with a freight train in Dodge County Monday afternoon.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Scott Olson was located hiding in the snow by deputies who followed his foot tracks to a property north of the crash site. He was found in possession of two glass pipes that field-tested positive for methamphetamine and over $1100 in cash. A statement says a small bag containing meth was also later found in his pants pocket.
Olson told investigators he ran away after colliding with the train because he was wanted on warrants issued by Goodhue County. Court records show there are four warrants for his arrest involving narcotics offenses and fleeing a police officer.
He now faces a fifth-degree drug charge and a charge of driving after cancellation in Dodge County. Olson's next court appearance has been scheduled on March 6th.
