The public is invited to downtown Rochester from 4-7 p.m. The meeting will begin with a two-hour session that features learning stations, hosted by DMC partners. A news release says the stations will showcase technology and innovation that’s meant to make downtown Rochester more vibrant. There will also be food trucks available.

A program recapping the past year and previewing plans for the future in downtown Rochester then begins at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to wrap up at 6:30 p.m. The meeting closes with live music and a connection opportunity from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The open-house-style event is free. The meeting takes place along 1st Ave. Southeast between Center St. and 1st St. Southeast. Rochester Public Works says traffic will  be detoured away from the meeting site from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. on September 15.

Wow! Check out how Rochester has changed throughout the years in these Google photos.

As we are soaring down Hwy 52, it is hard to imagine what life was like in our town before the Target store was built where it is today. Or the house that you live in now, at one point in town, that wasn't there. In fact, Rochester has grown so fast throughout the years, most of our houses weren't even around 50 years ago! Don't believe me? Look through these photos to get a glimpse of what Rochester was like years ago.
