Deathtoll on MN Roads Continues to Climb
The latest victim of a recent rash of traffic-related fatalities across Minnesota was a 7-year-old girl.
The State Patrol says Alyssa Grimm of Milaca was riding a bike along a rural road in Mille Lacs County shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday when she was struck and killed by a SUV driven by a 29-year-old Milaca man. The State Patrol report indicates alcohol was not a factor.
There have been at least 11 traffic deaths in the state since last Thursday, and five of the victims died in crashes in southeastern Minnesota.
That total includes the 18-year-old Dodge Center area man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon. Dodge County Sheriff Jim Jensen says Guy Carlson was a passenger in a car that left County Road 7 just north of Dodge Center and smashed into a tree.
The driver, 22-year-old Shyanne Jensen was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital where she was last reported in good condition.
