That’s according to an update posted on a GoFundMe page set up on behalf of the family. The dog attack occurred last Friday.
The Brooklyn Park Police Department says officers were dispatched at 12:45 PM to a report of a dog attacking a three-year-old child in the 7500 block of Brooklyn Park Drive.
A news release says the officers arrived to find two pit bulls attacking the child. Officials reported that several of the officers opened fire on the dogs. One dog was killed and the other was wounded.

The injured dog, after it was secured, was taken to an animal care facility. Police said the child was given life-saving care at the scene then transported to a hospital in critical condition.
