Austin Police Looking for Pitbull in Dog Biting Incident That Sent Victim to Hospital

Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Austin are looking for a dog that bit a person last week.

A post published to the department’s Facebook page says the incident happened around 3:30 Thursday afternoon. 

The bite victim had to be taken to the hospital. An update on the victim’s condition is not available.

Dog Sought After Biting Person Near Mower County Fairgrounds in Austin, MN Thursday Afternoon

The dog bite occurred near the Mower County Fairgrounds in the 1200 block of 6th Ave SW. 

Police are describing the dog as a gray Pitbull with a white belly and white front paws. The pet was wearing a camouflage collar with "Real Tree" printed on it and a silver dog bone shaped name tag attached. 

The dog fled west after biting the person, according to law enforcement. 

Police are asking the dog’s owner or anyone who knows the owner to contact Austin police at 507-355-0150 and hit option 2 for Administration with the information.
