
Dog Shot and Killed After Attacking Officers During Twin Cities Warrant Arrest
Brooklyn Center, MN (MinnesotaNow)- Two police officers were attacked by a dog while trying to arrest a man with an active warrant in the Twin Cities on Monday.

That’s according to the Brooklyn Center Police Department.
Police say the incident began around 10:45 Monday morning with a trespass call. It ended with officers fatally shooting the dog.

Officers responded to the report of a man at the Speedway gas station on Brooklyn Blvd. with an unleashed dog.
Police say the man initially cooperated but began resisting after officers learned he had two arrest warrants and tried to take him into custody.
The suspect tried to leave and blocked the officers using a skateboard and his dog. Officers deployed multiple less than lethal options but could not subdue the suspect, according to authorities.
Officers Shoot & Kill Dog That Attacked Them During Struggle
The man’s dog then attacked two officers during the struggle, police say.
The officers, in an effort to protect those at the scene, discharged their weapons striking the animal authorities say.
The dog was transported to an emergency vet but was pronounced dead. Police did not describe the breed of the dog.
Injured Officers Expected to Recover
Two of the officers suffered injuries, however they are expected to return to duty, Brooklyn Center police said.
The suspect was taken to a hospital before being booked into the Hennepin County Jail. His name has not been released.
Police say the incident is under review.
