Driver in fatal pond crash now accused of neglect
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (AP) — A Maple Grove woman who was charged with misdemeanors after she drove into a pond, killing two of her five children, is now accused of neglecting one of the surviving girls.
A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says 23-year-old Marion Guerrido has a hearing next week in juvenile court. She's accused of failing to provide food and medical care for her daughter, who turns 2 this month.
Authorities say the girl suffered brain and organ damage in the November accident.
In April the parents told a child-protection investigator they'd removed the girl's feeding tube over infection concerns. But the parents didn't pursue medical care, and they missed appointments.
