Early Morning Rain Welcomed by SE Minnesota

It wasn’t much but the rain that fell across southeast Minnesota earlier today was beneficial as it ended an extended dry spell.Rochester’s dry streak had climbed to

10 days before this morning’s rain. The National Weather Service says totals in Olmsted County were in the quarter inch to half inch range. The official total at the airport was around 4-tenths of an inch. That’s the most in a 24 hour period since July 7th when nearly an inch fell at the airport. Before this morning’s rain, Rochester’s monthly precipitation deficit had grown to nearly 2 inches.

There will be another chance of rain on Sunday.
