Rochester Police: Evidence Contradicts Robbery Reported on Popular Minnesota Trail
Update: Rochester Man Cited for False Report of Crime on Minnesota Trail
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a stabbing and robbery reported on one of the city’s trails.

Officers responded to an apartment complex in northwest Rochester near the trail to investigate the incident around 11:00 Tuesday morning. The complex is in the area of 41st St. Northwest and West Circle Dr. Northwest.
The apparent stabbing victim told officers he was on the Douglas Trail north of 41st Street Northwest when someone stabbed him and then took his belongings before fleeing on foot.
Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson indicated Tuesday afternoon investigators were working to determine what happened and were looking for evidence to support the man’s report.
The incident was officially referred to by police as a "suspicious circumstance investigation."
Rochester PD Says Evidence Contradicts Man's Robbery Report on the Douglas Trail
On Wednesday Grayson confirmed the man suffered a stab wound to the abdomen. He was taken to a hospital for further care.
An update on his condition is not available. Grayson says officers never located evidence to support the man’s claim and actually found evidence that contradicts the man’s report.
Information released regarding the incident remains limited as the investigation is ongoing.
