Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man from the Eyota area has something to be thankful for and may want to send “thank you” cards to two Olmsted County deputies.

They saved his life.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns says the 30-year-old man was at a rural Rochester residence Tuesday with two other men when he went to his car.

Behrns says the other men went to check on the man around 1:00 PM and found him “very unresponsive. “

They called 911 and two deputies sent to the scene began efforts to revive the man.

Behrns says the deputies suspected the man had suffered a heroin overdose and decided to use the NARCAN medication. After two doses, the man was revived and taken to St Marys Hospital for follow-up treatment.
