Farmington, MN (KROC-AM News) - A fall from a bike last weekend has claimed the life of a Minnesota teenager.

The Farmington Police Department says the 13-year-old boy was riding a bike near his home in the southern Twin Cities suburb Saturday night when he fell off. A news release says emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Madden McKean was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, which was reported shortly before 8:30 PM.

The news release did not indicate whether the boy was wearing a helmet and did not provide any specific information about the injuries he suffered in the fall from the bicycle. The deadly incident is being investigated by Farmington Police and the Hennepin County Medical Examiners' Office.

A GoFundMe site has been set up to assist the teenage boy's family with funeral and related expenses. As of Thursday afternoon, more than $45,000 has been donated.
