At Least One Killed in SUV & Car Collision at Brainerd Lakes Area Intersection
The State Patrol responded to the second fatal crash shortly after 6:30 Tuesday evening. The fatality occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 371 and Excelsior Rd.
Both vehicles were heading east on the west side of the intersection when an SUV began making contact with a car in front of it. The light turned green and the SUV pushed the car into the intersection, the state crash report says.
That caused the car to spin out and the SUV to enter the ditch on the southside of the intersection, make contact with a curb and collide with a gun range.
A 55-year-old woman was driving the car and the SUV was driven by a 60-year-old man. The report does not say if one or both drivers were killed in the crash.
The names and more information regarding the drivers is set to be released Wednesday morning.
