That’s according to a criminal complaint that was filed in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday. The law enforcement pursuit occurred on Sunday afternoon.
The incident began when the State Patrol responded to the report of an erratic driver and a speeding vehicle traveling south on Hwy. 52 near the 65th St. Northwest interchange, the complaint says.
A State Trooper spotted the vehicle passing his squad car and clocked it traveling at a speed of 93 mph in the 60 mph zone, according to the court filing.

The trooper began pursuing the vehicle in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop and estimated it was traveling at a peak speed of 119 mph based on his squad car’s speedometer, the complaint states.
The suspect vehicle was seen weaving through traffic, passing vehicles on the shoulder and nearly colliding with several other passenger vehicles as it continued south on Hwy. 52, the charges say.
A second trooper joined the pursuit and the law officers were able to stop the fleeing vehicle by using what the complaint describes as a “a pursuit intervention technique.”
Troopers learned the vehicle was reported stolen and identified the driver as 25-year-old Jose Luis Delgado Jr. The charges allege Delgado Jr. gave the troopers a false name once they made contact with him.
A woman riding in the vehicle with Delgado Jr. told law enforcement he had picked her up to go to a store but began driving erratically. Troopers did not find a key for the vehicle, according to the complaint.
Delgado Jr. has been charged with felony counts of fleeing and receiving stolen property. He’s also charged with gross misdemeanor reckless driving and a misdemeanor giving a false name to police.
He is being held on $10,000 bail without conditions and is due back in court next month.
