
Rochester Police ID Suspect in Deadly Shooting & Armed Burglary

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department has released the name of the man arrested following a fatal shooting last weekend.

Officers encountered the shooting victim in the 1200 block of Marion Rd. SE shortly after 9:30 Sunday night.
The police report indicated the man was suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
He was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital where he died from his wound, Rochester Police Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson said.

About five minutes after finding the victim, officers were alerted to a burglary involving a man armed with a firearm in the 2700 block of Marion Rd. SE.
Grayson said responding officers took the alleged intruder into custody and identified him as the suspect in the deadly shooting.
35-Year-Old Rochester Man Identified as Suspect in Deadly Shooting
On Tuesday morning, Grayson identified the suspect as 35-year-old Michael Milbrandt of Rochester.
Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate he was booked into the Olmsted County Jail shortly before 10:30 Sunday night.
Police said Milbrandt and the shooting victim are related. He is also known to the residents of the home he reportedly broke into.
The name of the shooting victim has not been released. Milbrandt is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
