A news release issued by the U.S. Attorney's Office of Minnesota on Thursday afternoon indicates the defendant is the fifth guilty plea in the case involving an attempt to bride a juror in one of the trials following the massive fraud.
“The Feeding Our Future scheme was already a staggering and brazen fraud. But then came something even more corrosive: a cynical attempt to buy off a juror who stood strong and refused to be corrupted,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson.

5th Man Convicted in $120,000 Bribery Scheme of Feeding our Future Fraud Juror
43-year-old Said Farah was one of seven defendants on trial for the $300 million theft of taxpayer dollars from the Federal Child Nutrition Program.
Federal court documents allege he conspired with two of his brothers, one of whom was also charged in the bribery case, and three other individuals to bride a member of the jury during Farah’s trial in April of last year.
Farah’s brother, identified as Abdiaziz Farah and another man convicted in the case, identified as Abdimajid Nur, used social media to identify the juror and learned they lived.
Another person convicted in the scheme, identified as Ladan Ali, flew into Minnesota from Seattle to deliver the bride. Court documents say Said Farah gathered $120,000 to give to the juror.
The investigation that led to the disclosure of the bribery scheme led to the dismissal of the targeted juror and a second juror who was aware of it.
Said Farah entered his guilty plea on Thursday. He and the four other defendants are awaiting sentencing.
