Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A retired Twin Cities minister has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for driving drunk and causing the crash that killed a woman who was headed to her job as a 911 dispatcher in Minneapolis

30-year-old Jenna Bixby was killed in the crash on the night of February 17, 2018. Her husband was at home listening to a police scanner and heard the radio traffic about the deadly crash shortly after it occurred.

73-year-old Richard Shaka's blood-alcohol-concentration was tested at over twice the legal limit after he arrived at the hospital to be treated for the injuries he suffered in the crash. He entered a guilty plea to a criminal vehicular homicide charge during a court hearing back in March. Two other counts of the same offense were dismissed through the plea agreement. In addition to the time in prison, Shaka is also expected to pay restitution, which has yet to be set.
