Governor Signs Women’s Economic Security Act

ST. PAUL, MN (MNN) - New laws which are crafted to improve working conditions for women are now on the books in Minnesota.

Governor Dayton signed the bills to create the Women's Economic Security Act on Sunday at the State Capitol in St. Paul. The new law requires state contractors to certify that men and women are paid the same for similar jobs, requires employers to make changes to accommodate new mothers and pregnant workers and extends parental leave to 12 weeks.
