Guilty Plea for Minnesota Man Charged in Massive Fentanyl Bust
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota man charged following a major fentanyl and cocaine bust has entered a guilty plea.
That’s according to a news release issued Monday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota. The federal case was brought following an investigation conducted by the Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
The drug bust occurred this past January in Minneapolis. Federal court documents say law enforcement seized nearly 800 grams of fentanyl, more than 1,000 grams of cocaine, two firearms and $9,400 in cash during the execution of a search warrant on a residence and van belonging to 42-year-old Andre Garner of Minneapolis.
The plea deal calls for Garner to plead guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The deal also required that he admits to telling law enforcement anything found during the search was his.
Garner, who is a convicted felon, entered the guilty plea in federal court on Monday. His sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
