
Rochester Man Gets 6 Months in Decade Old Child Sex Assault Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to 6 months in jail for a child sexual assault conviction.
Rochester Man Gets Jail and Probation For Sexual Abuse Conviction
Olmsted County court records also indicate that 65-year-old Stephen Matthew Robertson was given credit for 68 days he has already served in jail and has been placed on probation for 15 years. He was also given a stayed 57-month prison term that could be imposed if he violates his probation, and he has been ordered to register as a predatory offender.

Robertson pleads guilty to 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct
Robertson entered into a plea agreement in January and admitted to a 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct charge. In exchange, a 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct charge and another 3rd-degree charge were dismissed.

Sexual Assaults Occurred About 10 Years Ago
The criminal complaint against Robertson says he was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a teenage boy approximately 10 years ago. The victim told investigators that he was sexually assaulted by Robertson Rochester Police Opened Investigation in Colorado and later in Rochester. He indicated that he was between 14 and 15 years old at the time.

Rochester Police Opened Investigation Last Year
Rochester police opened the investigation that led to the charges in August of last year after the now-young adult man reported the sexual assaults. Court documents say that, when he was interviewed by law enforcement, Robertson admitted to sexual activity with the victim in Rochester but denied assaulting the child in Colorado.
