Halloween Snow Leads to Hundreds of Crashes, Fatality on Minnesota Roads
Undated (KROC-AM News)- The first snowfall of the season caused difficult travel conditions on Minnesota roads.

A rain snow mix swept across Minnesota on Thursday morning.
The system brought rain to southeast Minnesota and produced a swath of slushy snow that stretched from the far southwestern corner of Minnesota to the shores of Lake Superior.
Preliminary snow measurements indicate most southwestern Minnesota communities picked up under an inch of snow.
Snow totals as high as 4.5 inches were reported in the western Twin Cities, Central Minnesota and northeast of the Twin Cities. 1.6 inches was reported in Duluth.
255 Crashes, One Fatal, Reported During Halloween Snowfall in Minnesota
The snow led to chaos on the roads Thursday. The State Patrol reported responding to 255 crashes from midnight through 9 p.m. on October 31
One of the crashes was fatal. 77-year-old Audrey Patrica Lankey of Hutchinson lost her life in a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 7 northwest of Hutchinson.
Her small SUV collided with a pick-up and she was pronounced dead at the scene, the State Patrol crash report says.
40 of the 255 crashes the State Patrol responded to involved injuries. Trooper also responded to more than 200 vehicles off the road, seven spinouts and a jack-knifed semi.
