Health Department Investigates Legionnaires’ Disease Cluster
Hopkins, MN (Learfield) -- Officials in Hopkins are telling residents the city's drinking water is safe, despite a cluster of five confirmed cases of Legionnaires' disease.
The Minnesota Department of Health is investigating the cases reported between August 4th and September 1st. Two of the patients have been treated and released, while three are still in the hospital. Names and conditions have not been announced.
Doctors say most people who do come in contact with the Legionella bacteria do not develop the disease.
