Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The National Weather Service says that a coming heatwave is expected to produce dangerously high temperatures and even higher heat index readings.

The southern two-thirds of Minnesota is included in a excessive heat watch that has been posted from 7 AM Thursday through 7 PM on Friday.

Forecasters say a mass of humid, hot air will blanket the upper Midwest, pushing temperatures into the mid-90's in southeastern Minnesota, with the possibility of heat index readings reaching 110 degrees.
