Home invasion arrest

An arrest has been made in connection with a reported home invasion in Rochester Sunday night.

 Captain John Sherwin says officers arrested 23 year old Javaar Watkins last night and he is expected to face aggravated robbery and burglary charges.  Sherwin says the investigation continues and a second suspect may soon be apprehended. Officers were called to a residence in the 200 block of 13 ½ avenue southeast around 10 p.m. Sunday after a 22 year old man reported he had just been robbed at gunpoint. The man, his girlfriend and their young child were there when two men followed an acquaintance inside the residence and demanded money.  The man told police both intruders were armed with handguns and one of them punched him in the face. He told officers the two men made off with several hundred dollars in cash.
