Home Prices Still Rising in Minneapolis
Although the increase in home prices around the country continues its slow fall from a year ago, Minneapolis is reporting
its best monthly increase since last August.
The latest Case-Shiller report involving its 20 city composite shows increases from April to May rose by 1.2 percent, the slowest pace since February last year. The year over year increase was 9.3 percent, down about a percentage point from a year ago.
Minneapolis had an increase from April to May of 1.3 percent. Its year-over-year increase was 8.4 percent
The report’s author notes housing has been turning in mixed economic numbers during the last few months. Prices and sales of existing homes have shown improvement while construction and sales of new homes continue to lag.
