Hundreds of Minnesotans Continue Searching for Madeline Kingsbury
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- Hundreds of Minnesotans partook in a massive ground search for Madeline Kingsbury Friday morning.
The volunteers met at the Goodview Fire Station in Winona County and the Rushford-Peterson School in Fillmore County. They were then bussed out to walk what’s described as rough terrain for about four hours, looking for any signs that could lead investigators to the location of the missing mother of two.
During a news conference Friday afternoon, Winona Police Chief Tom Williams said the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Madeline’s disappearance remains active. Earlier this week, Williams described the 26-year-old’s disappearance as “suspicious” and “involuntary.”
Williams said the Winona Police Department has received hundreds of leads regarding her disappearance. Officials reported 400 volunteers parktook in the search in Winona County and 300 people came out for the search in Fillmore County.
Another ground search is planned in both counties Friday afternoon. Williams and Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge once again asked residents and landowners in Winona, Fillmore and Houston Counties to walk their properties, check out buildings and trails and to review any camera footage they have from Friday, March 31, the day when Madeline went missing.

Madeline was last seen in with her domestic partner on the morning of March 31 when they dropped their two children off at daycare. She failed to report for her job at Mayo Clinic in Rochester that morning and her partner told investigators they returned to their home in Winona after dropping off the children.
He indicated that he left the residence around 10 AM and Madeleine was missing when he returned several hours later. He had been driving the couple's dark blue 2014 Chrysler Town and Country minivan.
Friday's search efforts are focused on areas where a vehicle matching that description was seen last Friday between 10 AM and 1:30 PM. Winona police have previously identified areas along Winona County Road 12 and Highway 43 in Winona and Fillmore counties. The family is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Madeline’s whereabouts.
