New Traffic Patterns Take Effect at Hwy. 52/I-90 Interchange, New Closure Starts Next Week
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) announced that northbound Hwy. 52 motorists will once again have access to the eastbound I-90 on ramp and that newly-paved northbound lanes through the interchange have reopened.

Eastbound I-90 drivers will also now have access to northbound Hwy. 52. The detour remains in place for eastbound I-90 motorists seeking southbound Hwy. 52 remains in place.
The new detour directs drivers to northbound Hwy. 52. From there, they will exit at the Marion Rd. interchange then enter southbound Hwy. 52.
Motorists seeking southbound Hwy. 52 from westbound I-90 are still being detoured to County Rd. 7 south of Eyota and southbound Hwy. 52 drivers seeking westbound I-90 are being routed to the interstate via southbound Hwy. 63.
New Closure Starts Tuesday, September 22
A new closure begins at the interchange next week.
Starting September 22, Hwy. 52 will close in both directions at the interchange. MnDOT says the closure is to accommodate paving work on Hwy. 52 and to allow crews to finish the I-90 westbound overpass.
Northbound Hwy. 52 motorists be detoured to I-90 via County Rd. 7 then directed off the interstate at Exit 217 to northbound Hwy. 52.
Southbound drivers on Hwy. 52 will be directed to westbound I-90 via southbound Hwy. 63. They’ll exit the interstate at the Eyota interchange and follow County Rd. 7 south to Hwy. 52.
I-90 motorists seeking southbound Hwy. 52 will be directed to exit at the Eyota interchange and connect with Hwy. 52 by traveling south on County Rd. 7.
MnDOT says the closure is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. on September 22 and anticipates having the highway reopened by 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 24.
