
Driver Hospitalized After I-90 Crash During Minnesota Blizzard
Eyota, MN (KROC-AM News)- One of the more than 20 injury crashes that occurred during Minnesota’s blizzard on Wednesday happened in Olmsted County.

First responders across southern Minnesota responded to hundreds of crashes while strong winds and heavy snow battered the southern part of the state.
Travel on Interstate 90 was particularly difficult. The interstate was closed for much of the day Wednesday between Albert Lea and the South Dakota border.

In Winona County, the westbound lanes of the freeway were closed for multiple hours due to a jack-knifed semi.
St. Charles, MN Man Hurt in Crash During Blizzard on Interstate 90 in Olmsted County
The southeast Minnesota injury crash occurred on I-90 east of Rochester. A Volkswagen SUV and Toyota SUV, both traveling west, collided in the area of the Eyota exit shortly after noon, according to the State Patrol.
60-year-old Douglas Edward Everett of Garrison, CA was identified as the Volkswagen Driver. The state crash report says Everett and his passenger, 47-year-old Kerstin I Everett of Garrison, CA, escaped the crash without injuries.
27-year-old Pierce Benjamin Haas was identified as the Toyota driver. The St. Charles man was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The drivers and passenger were all buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the state crash report says.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the two-vehicle crash.
