I feel like I'm the only one in the region who didn't get to go see the Savannah Bananas play the Coconuts at Target Field. I might be right, because there were sellout nights of 40,000 fans in Minneapolis. Beyond huge crowds, there were some big records and moments that happened.

Savannah Bananas VS Coconuts At Target Field

Owner and creator of Banana Ball, Jesse Cole, shared a message via Facebook highlighting the weekend in Minneapolis. One of the records broken was the most fan-caught foul balls. 10 of them were caught on Saturday night. In Banana Ball, if a fan catches a foul ball, it counts as an out!

What Is Banana Ball?

If you've never heard of Banana Ball, it's a take on baseball that has brought crowds out to stadiums across America. The game is a fast-paced 2-hour experience that features modified rules to keep the action going. There's no bunting; batters can't leave the batter's box (or it's an out); there are no mound visits; no walks; and no inning can start after 2 hours.

It's been wildly popular. Owner Jesse Cole said in his message that this truly may have been the greatest weekend in Banana Ball history, and he never gets used to it, and hopes he never will.

Twin Legends Come Out To Banana Ball

Twins legends came out for the fun too! Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Brian Dozier, Trevor May, and even Tony Olivia made appearances at the game.

The Coconuts became the Comeback Coconuts with an epic walk-off win in the 9th inning.
