
44-Year-Old Minneapolis Road Surveyor Struck & Killed at Intersection Near Twin Cities
Lakeville, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A man surveying an intersection south of the Twin Cities was killed after being struck by a vehicle.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the deadly incident shortly before noon Monday.
“This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones,” said Scott County Sheriff Luke Hennen. “Whether it’s a pedestrian, a bicyclist, or someone working along the roadway, drivers must always remain alert and attentive to help prevent tragedies like this.”

44-Year-Old Minneapolis Man Killed After Being Hit by SUV While Surveying Rural Intersection
The deadly vehicle-pedestrian collision occurred at the intersection of Texas Ave. and 230th St. East in New Market Township, which is about nine miles west of Lakeville.
An SUV, heading north on Texas Ave., struck the 44-year-old road surveyor, according to the preliminary crash investigation.

Multiple motorists stopped to render life-saving aid until first responders arrived but the Minneapolis man was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release says. His name has not been released.
A 58-year-old man from Lonsdale was driving the SUV. He did not suffer injuries and remained at the scene, authorities say.
His name has also not been released. The early stages of the investigation indicate impairment from drugs or alcohol was not a factor.
The name of the worker killed will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, the news release says.
