Popeyes Is Coming To Rochester This Fall

I woke up to dozens of messages on Friday morning. I had texts and social media messages from friends asking if I'd seen the news about Popeyes.

Jeff Kiger from the Post Bulletin shared a construction update and everyone wanted to make sure I was aware.

Popeyes is one of my favorite chains, and I’ve been patiently waiting for a Rochester location for years.

Several years ago, the company announced plans for two locations in town and even confirmed to me that they would open by late 2021. That obviously didn't happen, but this latest update looks legit.

After reading through all of my friends messages and taking a moment to think about how good it is to dunk Popeye's chicken tenders into their mashed potatoes and spicy gravy, I emailed a company spokesperson to confirm.

The plan hasn't changed since 2021. Two Rochester locations are still planned with one set to open later this year and another next year.

It’s Actually Happening: Where and When Popeyes is Opening in Rochester

Google has already updated their maps to show where the first location will open later this fall.

The first Popeyes is scheduled to open in the fall near the Apache Mall. A second restaurant will open by Walmart North next spring.
