Rochester Man Accused of Breaking into Pair of Storage Units Facing Six Felony Charges
Rochester police responded to the theft report at Rochester Storage Solutions on September 20.
The court document says a woman reported someone had stolen a laptop and printer out of her unit. She also stated that someone had opened and emptied totes that were in the unit and that some of the totes were missing.

Police reviewed surveillance camera footage of the storage facility. The footage showed a man identified as 33-year-old Dylan James Heinecke-Ross arriving at the unit he rents and unloading items from his truck into his unit on the night of September 14.
He is then seen attempting to open other units before gaining access to the victim’s unit, the charges say. The footage showed him loading a tote from the victim’s unit into his truck, the complaint says.

The cameras captured Heinecke-Ross pulling up to a different unit, retrieving an item from his truck and appearing to have been picking the unit’s lock, the charges say.
He got inside the unit and was seen loading a pink/purple backpack and a clear tote with blue handles into his truck, the complaint says.
Five days later, Heinecke-Ross returned to the first unit, gained access and was seen putting another tote in his truck, according to the complaint.
The value of the property reported stolen from the first unit was estimated at $1006. $1112 worth of property was reported stolen from the second unit, the complaint says.
