Kristen Bell Makes Massive Donation To Minnesota Man’s GoFundMe

How cool is this? Minnesota is getting a little extra love from Hollywood, and who better to spread it than Kristen Bell?

Yep, the actress we all adore has set her sights on helping a Minnesotan in need. But what’s the story behind her generous gesture? Let’s just say, it’s the kind of thing that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside - even in the dead of winter.

According to BringMeTheNews, a social media star that goes by the name of Quentin Quarantino online reached out to Kristen via Instagram to kick off a movement, inspired by the many people struggling with health insurance issues.

Kristen's response was beautiful. She not only loved the idea but wanted to do even more. She’s set to donate $100,000 to help those struggling with medical bills.  And she's definitely following through on that promise with one of the latest recipients being someone from right here in our neck of the woods.

According to BringMeTheNews, she made a generous donation of $24,182, pushing a Hastings resident named Murilo Romão past his $50,000 goal for his GoFundMe campaign.

His GoFundMe page says that Murilo was diagnosed with Ph+ Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 1st. He and his wife, Alana, are Brazilian immigrants who have lived in Minnesota for eight years.

Murilo's GoFundMe states his treatments have already reached $500,000 in hospital debt, and that he's not eligible for social programs and has been unable to obtain healthcare coverage because they are self-employed.
