Lewiston-Altura Schools Shifting to All Distance Learning
Lewiston, MN (KROC-AM News) - An area school district has madLee the decision to switch to all distance learning due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in southeastern Minnesota.
The Lewiston-Altura schools are closed today and tomorrow to allow time for teachers and staff to prepare for distance learning for all of the school district's students. The changeover will begin on Monday.
A statement from the school district says all sports practices and games involving Lewiston-Altura schools have been canceled until further notice. At this point, it is unclear if the athletic teams will be able to return to action before the end of the fall season.
The statement from the Lewiston-Altura schools indicates school officials hope to resume using the hybrid instruction model that had been in place since the beginning of the school year on November 17th, but that will be dependent on the level of COVID-19 in the community.
