Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Long lines quickly developed this morning at the Minnesota Drivers and Vehicle Services Center in Rochester and 13 other locations throughout the state.

Today is the first day since the state’s Stay at Home order went into effect the department has had exam stations opened, even for limited service. The Rochester exam station along North Broadway is now offering knowledge tests, permit applications, and driver license applications requiring knowledge or skills tests. Motorcycle and commercial driver's license road tests and evaluations are also available starting today.

Beginning next Tuesday, the 14 exam stations will begin offering class D road tests. The department notes that all of the road tests will be by appointment only and priority will be given to those who had their appointments canceled during the Stay at Home order. No new appointments for class D road tests are being accepted at this time.

The department is also reminding Minnesotans with expired driver's licenses that they do not need to renew them while the peacetime emergency for the pandemic remains in effect.

The video below shows what you can expect to encounter in terms of safety measures if you come to the Rochester or other DVS exam stations.
