Man Charged With Arson In Target HQ Fire
Minneapolis (KROC AM News) - A Twin Cities man has been charged with starting a fire at Target headquarters during the recent rioting and looting in downtown Minneapolis.
The criminal activity broke out after a murder suspect killed himself in the downtown as officers moved in to arrest him.
Police investigators examined surveillance footage of the August 26th fire at the Target site and identified the suspect as 24-year-old Shador Jackson of Richfield.
According to the criminal complaint, the surveillance video shows Jackson using a “Sidewalk Closed” construction sign to break through one of the glass doors of the building. Footage from inside the building shows Jackson pouring liquid from a bottle and starting the fire on top of a desk and then running from the building.
The complaint also notes Jackson was stopped later that night by police in Richfield and officers found he was “in possession of stolen items of merchandise.”
His arson case is being prosecuted in federal court.
