Man Dies After Being Mauled by 4 Dogs in Twin Cities Suburb
(Brooklyn Center, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in the Twin Cities are investigating a fatal dog attack.
The Brooklyn Center Police Department says officers were sent into a residential neighborhood Thursday afternoon and found four dogs attacking a person in a backyard. The officers shot one of the dogs with a "less lethal" round, which broke off the attack and sent the dogs running back into the adjoining residence.
The news release on the deadly incident says the officers then began rendering first aid to the victim, who had most of his clothing ripped off and extensive bites on a majority of his body. Paramedics intubated the victim before he was transported to an area hospital and underwent emergency surgery. Officials have since reported that the man has died from his injuries.
The dogs have been quarantined to undergo a dangerous dog evaluation process.
The name of the victim has not been released. Brooklyn Center Police have also not released information about the owner of the dogs.
