A news release issued Sunday morning says St. Paul Fire Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead. Police say a search of the neighborhood revealed a suspect in the fatal stabbing.

Officers then arrested the suspect, who was then booked into the Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of murder. The name of the adult male suspect has not been released.

Officials say the victim will be identified and his official cause of death will be determined by an autopsy conducted by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner. Saturday night’s fatal stabbing is the 16th homicide in St. Paul this year.
