Austin, MN (KROC AM News) - A man who was found dead in rural Austin Tuesday has been identified as a longtime member of the Mower County Board.

Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik says the body of 71-year-old Timothy Gabrielson was found around 7:00 AM on the ground near his vehicle in the 22000 block of 572nd Ave. Sandvik says “there are no indications of foul play, and that the incident is medical in nature.” Gabrielson was reported missing by his family at 8:30 PM Monday.

Sandvik adds, "The Mower County Sheriff's Office expresses their sincere thoughts and condolences to the Gabrielson family on the passing of Tim a long standing Mower County public servant (Mower County Commissioner)."

Gabrielson was re-elected to a new term on the county board last Tuesday.

Sandvik says the body of another man who was found around 3:00 PM near Grand Meadow has been identified as a 67-year-old out of state resident. It is believed the man was associated with a reported abandoned vehicle earlier in the day in the 71000 block of 265th St Grand Meadow Township. Sandvik says there were no signs of obvious injury or other indications of foul play.
