Mayo High School Student Dies in Crash

A Mayo High School student was killed in a single vehicle crash Friday in Illinois.

 According to the Kankakee County Sheriff's Office, 18 year old Cyrus Bellephant was driving a car that left the road, hit a pole and ended up in a creek.  He was extricated from the vehicle and died a short time later at Riverside Medical Center. The crash happened about 2:30 pm in Manteno, Illinois.  Bellephant would have been a senior at Mayo High School.  The crash remains under investigation.
