Multi-Month Surveillance Operation Leads to Major Rochester Meth Bust
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A multi-month surveillance effort led to a major methamphetamine bust in Rochester.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday. The court document says law enforcement learned of the alleged drug sale activity in the fall of 2024.
Rochester police began physical surveillance and observed activity indicative of drug transactions at public places in Rochester, the complaint says. The court filing indicates he was getting the drugs from a supplier in the Twin Cities.

During surveillance, police stopped a driver who they saw briefly meet with 37-year-old Jeremy Joseph Hunt. Officers found more than 17 grams of meth in the person's vehicle, the complaint says.
Law enforcement then obtained a warrant to track the Rochester man’s phone activity. Over the course of two months, Hunt’s phone indicated that he had made numerous trips between Rochester and a location on East Lake St. in Minneapolis, the court document says.
Physical law enforcement surveillance confirmed Hunt was at the East Lake St. location, the complaint says.
On Monday law enforcement tracking Hunt coming to Rochester from Minneapolis pulled him over after failing to signal his exit from southbound Hwy. 52 to 75th St. Northwest.
Police conducted a K-9 sniff of his vehicle and the dog indicated that narcotics were present, the charges say. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 3.12 pounds of methamphetamine, the complaint says.
Court records indicate Hunt was convicted in a federal drug trafficking case that started in Olmsted County in 2013. He was placed on parole last February and was scheduled to be on supervised release until 2029.
Hunt was arraigned Tuesday morning on one count of first-degree drug possession. He is being held on $1 million bail and is due back in court later this month.
